New EC Study on Digital Skills in the Workplace

EC logoThe growing impact of digital technologies on the economy is increasing the need for digital skills in the workplace. It has been suggested that as much as 90% of jobs will soon require digital skills. There is however only limited data currently available on the subject. The European Commission has therefore launched a new study entitled "ICT for Work: Digital skills in the workplace". The study is being carried out by ECORYS and DTI and will run over 15 months. It will gather information via a survey of employers in six EU countries (Finland, Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Slovakia and the UK) and cover a broad selection of sectors and occupational groups. The study will produce an estimate of the number of jobs in the EU that require digital skills and feed the Commission's work on digital skills.
