EC Announces €2.5 Billion Partnership to Master Big Data

Big DataThe European Commission recently announced the launch of a large public-private-partnership focussing on creating jobs, lowering consumption and improving healthcare outcomes through big data.

This new partnership aims to strengthen the data sector and put Europe at the forefront of the sector by pooling efforts from public, private, and academic research to support innovation.

The Commission will invest €500 million on Big Data through Horizon 2020, and it is expected that this will trigger around €2 billion in investments from the private sector.
