EC Funds Project on Digital Preservation

The Sustaining Heritage Access through Multivalent Archiving project (SHAMAN), co-funded by the European Commission, has developed a framework which enables digital preservation of data in virtually any format. This project aims to address software and hardware obsolescence which could potentially prevent future generations from accessing valuable information assets. A holistic approach was used to develop a reference architecture that provides a unified view of digital preservation enabling digital preservation to be integrated seamlessly into the overall architecture of an organisation. More about the SHAMAN Project
