EQANIE Expands Internationally with BCS to Award Euro-Inf Label

The European Quality Assurance Network for Informatics Education (EQANIE) is expanding its activities internationally through the accreditation of computer science courses in Latvia, and further courses in Milan and Riga. More accreditations are pending for Spain and Italy, and the Accreditation Committee also welcomed two new members representing industry from Ireland and the Netherlands. CEPIS’s Member Society in the UK, BCS: The Chartered Institute for IT (BCS) is currently preparing its application for authorisation to award the Euro-Inf label, 20 of which have already been awarded by ASIIN to German and international universities during 2011. EQANIE has also translated the accreditation criteria to Russian to make the label accessible to a wider audience, and a Russian and Romanian agency have also recently applied for EQANIE membership.
