CEPIS Awards Education Grants to Exceptional Girls in IT

CEPIS sponsored the Girls in IT Award of the 2012 e-Skills Week Competition and last Friday during the Closing Event of European e-Skills Week in Copenhagen, awarded education grants to the winner and runner up. The winning entry was a project by a team of young girls from Greece who designed and programmed a recycling robot. Education grants to the value of 3,000 and 1,500 Euro were presented to the winners and runner up respectively. More ICT practitioners, including female ICT practitioners is what Europe needs to be able to recover economically and to fill the anticipated gap of 700,000 ICT jobs by 2015.
