Results of EIT’s Public Consultation Now Published

An online public consultation launched last April by the European Commission, invited feedback on the Strategic Innovation Agenda of the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT). The results are summarised in a report that has recently been published. The aim of the public consultation was to collect views from all interested stakeholders concerning EIT’s mission in the European context, its role within other EU initiatives and the validity of the model offered by EIT’s Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs).

Some results from this consultation include:

  • The EIT shall play a distinctive role within the future Horizon 2020.
  • Business participation is deemed of high relevance to the success of EIT's KICs.
  • The EIT should actively promote new models of knowledge sharing and open innovation and come up with concrete and structured measures to disseminate KICs' innovation and funding models to all relevant stakeholders.
  • There is a clear need for a better communication and improved transparency of the EIT and its Governing Board towards external stakeholders.
