European Parliament Publishes Report on the Role of ENISA

The European Parliament recently published a report on the role of the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA). This report analyses ENISA’s contribution to a coherent and enhanced structure of network and information security in the EU and internationally.

The report provides several recommendations for ENISA’s future, such as:

  • expanding its territorial presence by opening an ENISA Brussels liaison office and assigning staff to an Athens branch office
  • considerably increasing its budget
  • clarifying its ability to engage with privacy/data protection issues and cybercrime issues
