The Global Information Technology Report: ICT for Sustainability

The latest Global Information Technology Report for the period 2009-2010 has been published. This series of reports which began in 2001, raise awareness of multiple actors, including governments, businesses and society about the importance of ICT for building competitive economies and sustainable growth.

The report has been published through the partnership of the World Economic Forum and INSEAD, and is composed of four main thematic parts. The Networked Readiness Index 2009-2010 (NRI) is the main methodological tool for the report, in which 133 economies from both the developing and developed world are examined to see the extent to which they have leveraged ICT advances for increased growth and development. 

The different sections cover many different themes including, the importance of ICT for sustainability and an insight into best practices in ICT to foster growth and competitiveness through selected case studies from Spain, Ireland, Tunisia and China.
