EQANIE welcomes new member and HEQEC adopts Euro-Inf Standards

At the meeting of its General Assembly on March 15th, 2010, in Milan, the European Quality Assurance Network for Informatics Education, EQANIE, welcomed the Spanish National Conference of Deans and Directors for Universities' Schools of Informatics, CODDI, as a new member.

It is now envisaged to introduce a system of field-specific quality assurance in informatics higher education in Spain on the basis of the Euro-Inf Standards and Criteria. By now 11 members of the network consist of eight national organisations in six different European countries as well as three European associations. EQANIE is represented in more than 30 different countries.

At the meeting of the Euro-Inf Spread Project on March 16th, 2010, in Milan the Latvian Higher Education Quality Evaluation Centre, (HEQEC), announced that the Euro-Inf Standards and Criteria will serve as basis for the assessment of informatics study programmes by HEQEC in the future.

The Euro-Inf Spread Project, in which CEPIS is involved, is co-financed by the European Commission under the Lifelong Learning Programme. It aims to disseminate the Euro-Inf Framework Standards and Criteria adopted by EQANIE in July 2009.

The Secretariat of EQANIE is located at ASIIN, the leading institution developing field-specific qualification frameworks in the area of engineering, informatics and natural sciences.
