CEDEFOP report examines if Europeans will be skilled enough for 8.5 million new jobs

CEDEFOP has recently published a briefing note on future trends for jobs inEurope and the qualifications and skills that will be required to take up theseopportunities. CEDEFOP's forecast analyses the skills/jobs trends that mayoccur in the coming years.

Fortunately, according to the report, Europe will survive the current economiccrisis, as it is predicted that approx. 8.5 million new jobs will be created by2020, requiring new skills. These jobs will be more knowledge and skillintensive, and as a result EU policy-makers should enable an environment whichsupports citizens in improving their skills, and thus their ability to respondto the economy's needs.
